(Jan. 5, 2022) -- Things change so rapidly, it can be hard for school staff and parents to keep up with the latest dangers facing kids online and due to illegal drugs. The Colorado School Safety Resource Center (CSSRC) will host a free weekly speaker series in January featuring national experts on cybersafety, cyberbullying, and substance abuse prevention.

“Cyber safety/bullying and trends in substance use are topics of intense interest to our school communities and parents,” said CSSRC Director Chris Harms. “These outstanding speakers will present trends and tips useful for both parents and anyone who works with youth in schools.”

The series will feature a different, nationally renowned speaker each week:

  • Jan. 11 - Digital Birds & Bees: Talking Tech, Teens & Sex. Presented by Alex Rodrigues, Clinical Psychologist
  • Jan. 18 - Trending Concerns with Youth and Substance Use. Presented by Lynn Riemer, President, ACT on Drugs
  • Jan. 25 - Fostering Positive Student Relationships Offline and Online. Presented by Sameer Hinduja, Co-Director, Cyberbullying Research Center

The event is fully virtual and free, but registration is required. Find out more and register here.
