CDPS Social Media Guidelines

Colorado Department of Public Safety Social Media Terms of Service and User Guidelines

While CDPS allows for comments and postings, CDPS imposes reasonable limits on comments and postings on our official social media accounts. We ask that you follow our posting guidelines below. We may remove comments that:

  • Contain obscene or vulgar language,

  • Promote acts of  illegal discrimination based on race, gender, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.,

  • Contain fighting words (statements that tend to incite an immediate breach of peace),

  • Contain threats or statements communicating an intent to commit an act of violence,

  • Appear to incite or promote illegal or criminal activity, or the violation of any federal, state, or local law, regulation or ordinance,

  • Make libelous statements (false statements that damage someone\'s reputation),

Additionally, please note:

  • We do not allow spam, which includes promotional postings, solicitations, links or advertisements. This includes promotion or endorsement of any financial, commercial, or nonprofit nongovernmental entity or agency.

  • We do not allow the posting of any link or application that would damage or harm anyone's computer or software.

  • We urge all comments to be original opinions of the poster and we do not allow comments that violate copyrights or registered trademarks.

  • You should continue the theme of the blog/posting and remain on topic.

  • Please participate with respect and courtesy, personal attacks are not appropriate and may be removed.

  • Please do not post misleading or false information.
