The Executive Director's Office (EDO) provides administrative and management services to the operating divisions of the department. This includes developing the department's budget and policies, providing liaison to the Colorado General Assembly, helping members of the public determine what CDPS office can provide assistance to them, supervising payroll and procurement services within the department, and working with the Office of the Governor to carry out the mission of the department. Additionally, the EDO contains two safety programs: the Colorado School Safety Resource Center, and the Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information Systems.

Colorado School Safety Resource Center
The mission of the Colorado School Safety Resource Center is to collaboratively assist local schools and communities to create safe and positive school environments for Colorado students in all pre-k through higher education schools. The CSSRC provides free consultation, resources, training, and technical assistance to foster safe and secure learning environments, positive school climates, and early intervention to prevent crisis situations.
Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information System
Per legislation, the purpose of CICJIS is "developing, operating, supporting, maintaining and enhancing in a cost-effective manner, a seamless, integrated criminal justice information system that maximizes standardization of data and communications technology among law enforcement agencies, district attorneys, the courts, and state-funded corrections for adult and youth offenders, and other agencies as approved by the general assembly or by the executive board." C.R.S. 16-20.5-102(2).
Compliance & Professional Standards
Purpose: Compliance and Professional Standards is responsible for ensuring the Department adheres to laws, regulations, internal policies and standards of governmental and independent accreditation entities. Through a comprehensive risk management program, members strive to collaboratively assess and mitigate risk within the department.
Our internal audit section is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization\'s operations.
The professional standards section handles impartial review of employee and citizen concerns and coordinates the development and ongoing review of departmental policy.
Along with being the central point of contact for the Department's regulatory agenda and promulgation of rules, this office also provides support, utilization and external monitoring of local law enforcement agencies throughout the state is conducted through the management of Colorado\'s 1033/1122 Programs.

The Administrative Services section provides a variety of support services for all CDPS divisions, including accounting, budget, logistics, payroll, and procurement
Human Resources
CDPS Human Resources manages comprehensive HR policies, programs and procedures that influence and support CDPS organizational values and goals. HR provides consultation and services to recruit, select and onboard talent and to manage position classification, compensation and benefit administration. HR staff also facilitate dispute resolution and provide performance management tools, coaching and counseling to maintain and improve performance and compliance with regulations, laws and State Personnel Board Rules, and administrative procedures. Human Resources administers leave and worker's compensation benefits and maintains personnel files.
Strategic Communications
The Strategic Communications Office provides support to CDPS and its divisions via internal and external strategic communications, performance planning, organizational development, special projects, process improvement, and change management.
