Human Trafficking Outreach Campaign Receives 2021 Heartland Emmy Award

(July 20, 2021) - The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Heartland Chapter has awarded an Emmy® in the Public Service Announcement category to the Colorado Human Trafficking Council’s 2020-2021 This is Human Trafficking campaign. The ceremony was live-streamed at the 35th Annual Heartland Regional Emmy Awards Presentation.

The Colorado Division of Criminal Justice’s Office for Victims Programs supports the Colorado Human Trafficking Council and hired Orange Circle Consulting and Listen Productions to produce the campaign. 

In addition to the Emmy award, the campaign received the Award of Excellence in the category of Integrated Campaign - Social Responsibility from recognition from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.  The Telly Awards honored the campaign for excellence in local TV in the general public interest/awareness category and for excellence in branded content for social impact campaigns

“The Council is honored to receive such accolades, which help elevate our public messages and our mission,” said Maria Trujillo, Human Trafficking Program Manager. “Since 2017 the Council has been fortunate to work with the Orange Circle Consulting team to build a campaign that not only educates the public but provides access to resources for people experiencing human trafficking.”

Winning the Heartland Regional Emmy Award is an honor for a hard-working team trying to shift perceptions and encourage Colorado residents to take action against human trafficking,” said Tonya Peters, Owner & Lead Strategist, Orange Circle Consulting.

Listen Productions is even more grateful and motivated to continue collaborating with Orange Circle Consulting and the Colorado Human Trafficking Council to help victims and survivors of this crime that is occurring in our state be heard and seen.”

Phase two of the multi-year campaign has commenced this summer and runs through 2022. Campaign messaging can be seen all over the state in both English and Spanish, including social media, broadcast TV, radio, outdoor billboards and at highly visible areas like DIA.
