More than 450 stakeholders from across the state, representing all walks of life and every facet of criminal justice, will gather to collaborate on strategies aimed at:

Reducing recidivism,

Sentencing without bias,
-
Implementing pretrial reforms, and
-
Reducing the involvement of, and improving outcomes for, juveniles in the justice system.
Registration for the event reached capacity in fewer than two weeks, and the waitlist exceeds 75 people.
The forum is co-hosted by the Colorado Department of Public Safety, Colorado Department of Human Services, Colorado Department of Corrections, and the University of Denver's Colorado Evaluation and Action Lab.
Over the past year, Governor Polis and his administration have met with community members, criminal justice professionals, victim and offender advocates, and many other stakeholders to highlight and better inform strategies to reduce crime and recidivism and improve public safety. This forum is intended to bring together those who are passionate about continuing to move Colorado forward as a national leader in public safety and criminal justice practice. Attendees will be sharing their ideas, providing feedback around the strategies they hear, and informing the path to a stronger system of accountability and support.
"This forum continues our work to create a better Colorado for All. That is because we know our criminal justice system should promote public safety, reduce crime, and treat every individual with fairness, equity, and dignity in every interaction and at all stages," Governor Polis said.
"Building an effective and equitable criminal justice system makes our state safer, and it's something that requires input and effort from every part of the system. That's why we're bringing together state and local partners, practitioners, and thought leaders to begin to connect the dots toward improved criminal justice and public safety outcomes," CDPS Executive Director Stan Hilkey said.
