School Safety Conference Covers Range of Topics from Marijuana to Threat Assessment

(JUNE 30, 2016) The Colorado Association of D.A.R.E. Officers (CADO) and the Colorado School Safety Resource Center of the Department of Public Safety will host a conference July 6-8 in Steamboat Springs to provide training and workshops on a range of school safety issues, from prevention and threat assessment to adolescent marijuana usage and sexting.

The 2016 Summer School Safety Conference is ideal for school resource officers, teachers, school administrators and school health/mental health workers, but interested members of public can also register to attend. Media are invited to attend and cover the topics.

WHAT: 2016 Summer School Safety Conference

WHEN: Wednesday, July 6 to Friday, July 8

WHERE: Sheraton Steamboat Resort &, Villas, 2220 Village Inn Court

COST: Ranges from $75 for half-day attendance to $350 for full conference

Speakers include experts from law enforcement, school districts, the Colorado School Safety Resource Center, Colorado Attorney General's Office, and more. Workshops and trainings will address topics including:
