(Aug. 1, 2019) One way we can work to keep our schools safe is by protecting against digital threats. The clear majority of recent school violence attacks have had precursors leaked online in the form of social media posts. Knowing where, how, and when to look for this critical information is the task at hand. There are simple and free online tools and techniques that all those responsible for ensuring the safety in your schools need to be using on a regular basis. Given "Safer Schools Together's" role in actively assisting school districts and police agencies across North America, you will not find a more up-to-date presentation in this specific subject area.

The Colorado School Safety Resource Center and the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool will be partnering with Safer Schools Together to offer three days of Digital Threat Assessment Workshop from Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 25 through 27, 2019. This training will help those who share responsibility for school safety better understand and respond to safety challenges presented by social media.

The digital threat assessment training will provide tools to identify student safety concerns and provide strategies for dealing with the current digital world. Advanced and Train-the-Trainer classes will require a pre-requisite(s) to attend.
